Laptops

Laptop Checkout Policy

Laptops may be checked out by adults 18+ with a valid Lonesome Pine Regional Library card and current government issued photo ID. Card must have less than $25 in outstanding fines/fees or acceptable payment plan in place.

Laptops are available on a first come, first served basis for 4 hours at a time, which can be extended if no one is waiting. Laptops are for in Library Use Only and may not leave the building.

Laptop computers may not be left unattended. Patrons must return the laptops to the Circulation Desk when they are finished or the time for use has expired.

You may not install or download software or save files on library laptops.  All files must be saved to an online account, emailed to you, or your own device. All files will be deleted when the device is shutdown.

Prior to check-in, the borrower must sign out of any email or social media account used on the laptop. This is a security measure to protect the borrower.

By checking out a library laptop, you agree to follow the Library Internet Use Policy. The library is not responsible for any loss of personal information/data or identify fraud that may result from using a library laptop.

Laptops are checked out in a case that includes a laptop, a mouse and a charger. Patrons are responsible for costs associated with loss or damage to the laptop and/or charger and case. Replacement cost for a laptop is $1200. The overdue fines for a laptop is $1 per hour not to exceed the cost of the device.

Funding for this project is allocated from the COVID CARES Act through the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Library of Virginia.
