Using the Library

If you are a resident of Virginia, own property in the Commonwealth, or are in residence at an educational institution in the area you can receive your free library card from any branch library.

Each borrower must have his own personal card and is responsible for all materials checked out on the card.

Loan Periods

Books and other materials:     2 weeks, 2 renewals

Videos and DVDs:                      3 days, 1 renewal

Renewals are only available if there are no holds (waiting list) on checked-out materials.

Returning Library Materials

Items may be returned to any branch library.

Items placed in the book drop after the library has closed are checked in with the date on which they were returned.

Fines for Overdue and Lost or Damaged Materials

Books and other materials:     10 cents per day per item

DVDs:                                            $1.00 per day per item

List price is charged for the replacement cost of lost or damaged materials and a processing fee is charged per item.
